These are the rules for using Esbayeni, the cattle record book on this site. By using it you agree to them. They are written to be read, so if anything is unclear, ask us.

Your records are yours

Everything you record belongs to you. We do not sell it or use it for anything except running Esbayeni and helping you. You can download your records from Farm setup at any time, and delete your account in Share and sync. The privacy page says what we keep and where.

Melusi AI, the farm manager in Esbayeni, is an AI. It is not a vet, an agronomist or a farmer, and it can be wrong, so what you do with its advice is your decision. Check doses against the label, and call a vet when an animal is in danger. It is off until you agree to it. When you use it, your question and that farm's records go to Anthropic, which makes the AI, and on a live call your voice goes through ElevenLabs. Our privacy page explains this in full.

The plans

Free costs nothing and has no time limit. Pro is R199 a month per farm. During early access Pro costs nothing; we will tell you at least 30 days before that changes, in the app and on this site. Nobody is moved onto a paid plan without saying yes. When Pro is paid, we send a monthly invoice to pay by EFT. If an invoice is not paid, the farm goes back to Free: the records stay on your phones and nothing is deleted. Scale is priced for each customer and agreed in writing before any work starts.

You can stop any plan at any time. Money already paid for a month is not refunded for that month.

Keep a backup

On Free, your records live only on your phone. If the phone is lost, broken or reset, or the browser's data is cleared, the records go with it unless you downloaded a backup. Download one often. We look after the online copy for Pro and Scale farms with daily backups, but no system is perfect, so keep your own backup too.

Use it fairly

Do not use Esbayeni to break the law, to get into someone else's farm or account, or to overload or attack the service. Keep your password and recovery code safe. The farm owner decides who is on a farm and can remove people.

What we promise, and what we do not

We work hard to keep Esbayeni running and correct, but we cannot promise it will never be down or never have a mistake. Withdrawal dates, due dates and other numbers in the app are worked out from what you record; check the medicine label and your vet for the final word before you sell or slaughter. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses from using Esbayeni, and for paid plans our responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and in the app at least 30 days before. South African law applies.
